Your body is a complex machine, and so are you. Treat it well and take care of it. Set up a skin care routine and stick with it! If you are serious about your skin, you should try to follow a routine every day.
That’s why we have compiled a list of skin care reminders to help you out in your combat:
- Remind yourself to wash your face with a facial cleansers once a day.
- Moisturize.
Your skin constantly needs moisture to stay young and smooth. This can be as simple as using a light lotion or as complicated as going for a deep tissue massage. - Sleep.
As important as eating and drinking, sleep is just as vital for your body. Getting enough sleep increases your body’s ability to heal itself and prevents free radicals from damaging your skin. Take a look at your sleep cycle to see if you are actually getting the required amount of sleep. - Remind yourself not to expose yourself to the sun, especially if you are prone to tanning.
Although the sun can be a great source of Vitamin D, prolonged exposure can lead to skin cancer. Wear sunscreen and clothing that cover as much of your skin as possible. - Eat a healthy diet.
Certain foods are good for the skin, and others are bad. A diet high in antioxidants will keep your skin healthy and free of blemishes. - Don’t smoke.
As bad as smoking is for your lungs, it’s just as bad for your skin. - Don’t go to bed with your makeup on.
Although it’s an easy thing to do and get out of the way, it can lead to clogged pores and blemishes. - Don’t use any old lotion.
Look for one that’s especially formulated for your skin. - Go easy on the perfume.
Although everyone likes to smell good, your pores will be overworked if you’re overly heavy with the scent. - Don’t forget to breathe.
Last, but not least – stop worrying about it. This might seem like a silly thing to say, but we can’t stress how important it is. If you’re constantly thinking how your skin looks or what it might need, you’re going to find yourself spending all of your time in front of a mirror or trying out strange lotions and potions in an effort to combat some perceived problem which doesn’t even exist.
When it comes to skin care, consistency is key. Good luck!
